Eagle County real estate surpasses $1B in total dollar volume!
Real estate in Eagle County has seen a huge uptick in sales in July with $281M in total dollar volume and 261 transactions. This brings the year to date total to $1.077B in dollar volume and 889 transactions. With the exception of April 2017, when the Hyatt in Beaver Creek sold, you’d have to go back to August 2007 to find a month with more transactions and dollar volume than July, 2020.
There were 8 areas throughout Eagle County that had 10 or more transactions in July; Gypsum had the most with 41 sales, followed by Eagle with 36, Avon (21), East Vail (17) and Cordillera (13). The 261 sales averaged $1.1M with 32% of the residential transactions selling above $1M. The highest priced sale was a home in Vail Village which sold for $24M; $3108 PPSF.
Typically, the majority of Eagle County buyers are locals; accounting for more than 50% of purchases. Front Range buyers account for nearly 20% and out of state buyers account for nearly 30%. New construction sales were very active with 16 sales in July, accounting for more than $15M in total sales volume.
